Elmira Country Club Golf Tournaments
ANNUAL INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT “Best Ball”
- last full weekend in June (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
- match play, limit of 112 teams - there is a waiting list
- applications available in the Pro Shop May 1
- entry fee required which covers dinners each night and entertainment for Friday and Saturday
Non-participants and club members welcome for an additional fee
- prizes at the conclusion of play on Sunday
- For Elmira Country Club members, special arrangements are made for the use of Corning Country Club’s course. All tee times must be made through our Golf Pro.
CLARIBEL UNDERHILL WOMEN’S SENIOR TOURNAMENT
- same Sunday as the Men’s Senior Tournament – entry fee
- format - 18 Hole Point Quota with age divisions for all participants
- register in the Pro Shop
- dinner and prizes following play
FRIDAY TWILIGHT
- May through September every Friday night - entry fee
- different format each week
- register in the Pro Shop - couples and singles welcomed and encouraged
- late afternoon shot-gun start, time may vary during the season
- dinner following completion of play
LOBSTER WEEKEND SUNDAY SCRAMBLE
- Sunday of Lobster Night week-end – entry fee
- format - Captain and Crew, Men, women, and guest players welcomed
- register in the Pro Shop
- Cart fee, no greens fee if also playing in Lobster Night Tournament and attending the Lobster Night dinner
- prizes following conclusion of play
LOBSTER NIGHT SATURDAY TOURNAMENT
- held on a Saturday towards the end of August – entry fee
- format - Best Ball of Partners, men, women, and guest players are welcomed
- register in the Pro Shop
- cart fee, no greens fee if also playing in Sunday Scramble and attending the Lobster night dinner
- prizes following play
MARY HOFFMAN TOURNAMENT
- held towards the end of July – entry fee
- format – modified Scotch, couples and individual players welcome
- 1:00 PM shotgun start
- register in the Pro Shop
- dinner and prizes following conclusion of play
MEMBER/GUEST/MEMBER TOURNAMENT
three (3) day tournament held at the end of July or early August – entry fee
- format - best ball of partners, modified Scotch, and Scramble; men’s and women’s Divisions
- register in Pro Shop
- entry fee covers dinner and entertainment Friday and Saturday night, with prizes at conclusion of play on Sunday

MEN’S SENIOR TOURNAMENT
- Mid-July, Saturday and Sunday – entry fee
- open to all adult members 50 years of age and over
- format - 36 Hole Point Quota with age divisions for all participants

- dinner and prizes following play
STAG DAY
- held twice, early June and the middle of September - entry fee
- format - two best balls of a foursome.
- members may bring one guest, you may select your own foursome

- dinner and prizes follow conclusion of play
MIXED MEMBER – MEMBER TOURNAMENTS
- held each month – entry fee
- men, women and single players welcome
- register in the Pro Shop
- dinner and prizes following completion of play
PARENT AND CHILD TOURNAMENT
- held every year on Father’s Day – entry fee
- format - modified Scotch
- starting time 8:00 a.m.
- register in the Pro Shop
- trophies will be awarded to the winners in each division
SOCASH MEDAL PLAY TOURNAMENT
- entry fee
- open to all members of ECC 18 years of age and above
- format – Men
Two (2) day medal play, both gross and net divisions, highest placement between gross and net determine final standings You may form your own foursome for Saturday, Pro Shop will determine foursome for Sunday play.
- format – Women
One day tournament on Sunday, using the same format as above, except you may form your own foursome.
- format – Seniors
One day tournament on Sunday, using the same format as above, except you may form your own foursome.

STRATHMONT CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP
- believed to be the oldest continuously played club tournament in the U.S.
- held annually since 1898 in late summer – entry fee
- open to all golf members with established handicaps
- format - match play with men’s, women’s, and Juniors’ division handicap flights
- awards at conclusion of play
SWEEPS EVENTS
- Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays – entry fee
- men, and women welcomed
- register in the Pro Shop
TOM BONNAR TOURNAMENT (Golf Pro from 1918–1953)
- held in the May – entry fee
- format - total strokes and less total handicap, couples and single players welcome
- shotgun start at 1:00 PM
- register in the Pro Shop
- dinner and prizes following conclusion of play
TURKEY SHOOT
- held the middle of October - entry fee
- format – Captain and Crew, limit of 20 foursomes, men and women welcome
each team must include at least one ECC member.
- shotgun start at 10:30 a.m.
- no green fees for guests
- snacks at conclusion of play with ½ of field winning a turkey
VAN BRUNT OLDSMOBILE “SCRAMBLE”
- held in the beginning of July – entry fee
- format – Captain and Crew, men and women welcomed
- shotgun start at 12:30 p.m.
