Joe Norman -- Head Golf Professional
Joe Norman came to us from the Corning Country Club where he worked for six years as the assistant golf professional. Being originally from the area, he is familiar with both the events and the people in the community.
Joe graduated from the University of Charleston with a Bachelors of Science in Sports Management and, being a Class-A member of the PGA of America, he brings great knowledge of the business and game to our club. His resume has a long list of playing accomplishments, extending from national amateur events to the PGA Tour. With skills for teaching lessons to players of all ages and abilities, and a good eye for merchandising the golf shop, he makes a great addition to our highly trained golf operations staff.

Tom Newkirk -- Grounds and Greens
After three years as Golf Course Superintendent at the Bethpage State Park, Yellow Course, Tom Newkirk took over the duties of Superintendent here at the Elmira Country Club in May 2006. Tom graduated from the State University of New York at Cobleskill with a Bachelor of Technology in Plant Science as well as an Associates Degree in Turf Grass Management.
Along with these degrees, Tom’s diverse background at various country clubs and golf courses (including preparation for the 2002 U.S. Open at the Bethpage Black Course) as well as research conducted at Cornell University, have provided him with the necessary knowledge and experience to expertly maintain and improve our high quality golf course.
